Kanapaha Botanical Gardens
FRIDAY, April 21, 2023

One of the most beautiful gardens in Florida, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens sits beneath large live oaks with more than a dozen themed gardens and 24 major collections, spread over 68 acres.  It is located a short distance south of the Best Western.  The gardens and collections are visually accessible from a 1 ½ mile paved walkway.  These include the state's largest public display of bamboos and the largest herb garden in the Southeast. Some of Kanapaha's gardens are organized taxonomically; others

demonstrate principles of ecology or natural selection. Kanapaha also has an arboretum, a greenhouse brimming with orchids and bromeliads, and a vinery.

Hours are 9 am – 5 pm, admission is $10.  Wheelchairs and walkers provided.

Along the route you can stop at the Tower Square shopping center located on your left at 75th St and Archer Road, very near the Gardens. There is Mexican, Thai, Pizza, or you can grab a sub at Publix and have a picnic at the Gardens.
